Lernos didn't start as a company. It started as a handful of simple apps built for one child — to help with counting, patterns, and everyday learning in a way that actually matched her sensory needs and pace, not a generic one-size-fits-all approach.
Most learning apps are built for a "typical" child first, then have accessibility options bolted on afterward — a font-size toggle here, a mute button there. Lernos was built the other way around: sensory adjustability was the starting point, not an afterthought.
Every app in Lernos shares the same adjustable foundation: size, visual intensity, sound, and speech are all live sliders, adjustable mid-session, not buried in a settings menu you have to leave the activity to find. A one-tap "calm" button dials everything down instantly when a child needs a moment. None of this is a special "accessibility mode" — it's just how the apps work, for every child, every time.
In every Lernos app, a wrong answer is never eliminated, disabled, or marked with a harsh red X. Feedback stays gentle and consistent — the goal is confidence and repeated engagement, not a scoreboard. This is a deliberate pedagogical choice, applied the same way across every single app, not just the ones that happen to need it most.
A percentage score tells you almost nothing useful for an IEP meeting. What actually matters is how much support a child needed to get there — full-physical, gestural, verbal, or independent — and whether that's changing over time. Lernos tracks that as a real, dated history per skill, so a parent or therapist can show an actual trajectory, not just a snapshot.
Lernos is still early — currently built for early foundational skills, growing deliberately rather than rushing toward breadth. We'd rather do a narrow set of skills properly than a broad set shallowly. You can see exactly what's built today, and what's planned next, on the homepage.
